The Way Of The Strait

Updated: Jan 27, 2022

On your personal walk as being a believer in Jesus Christ, have you ever come to the fork in the road where a major life decision had to be made? If you have not, prayerfully keep living and you will see what I am talking about! One would describe it as complex when we are commanded to love in spite of, but that same love is expected to correct, to chastise, reprove, or scold. We are told to correct our children in order for them not to spoil. In this since "spoiled" is not so good, but when we begin to view the very same word for a believer it becomes even more detrimental! Spoiled goods spoil the whole bunch!

My first job as an eleventh grader was at this little store called "Mims Mart." Mom would come and pick me up and drop me off as soon as school was done and I loved it!

Yes, I did the cashier thing but I was instructed to do something during the times when the store was not busy with customers. Mr. and Mrs. Mims told me to "inspect the fruits and vegetables for spots, for punctures, and for those rotten and immediately put them in a box to the side. Their mart was mainly known for fresh produce of all kinds. Many from the neighborhood came to get fresh grown produce from us being that we were the only ones in town with it! They also sold other things like home made pastries and homemade dinners that could just be popped in the oven and one dish for dinner is ready! Mr. Mims had a thing about the tomatoes! He absolutely hated spots and dents on the tomatoes. He taught me how to inspect the tomatoes by rolling them around on the balls of my fingers. This was to insure the fact that while I was inspecting, that I did not case injury.

{Isaiah 42;3}

"A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth."

I had to check for the outdated as well. The freezers were filled with things and dates needed to be checked! Not only me but a few more of my other friends from school worked there. Quantel Moss, one of our great football players would be on the back sitting at a huge machine grinding things and making them into something else along with the other guys, Troy Broom and the others. I began to love the job so much and the Mims could tell! They also sold antique furniture in another section of the store and they would allow me to purchase beautiful items half off and then pay the other half through a certain amount of work hours! Fantastic!! So I kept schooling and working until one pay day I got paid and just before mom came to pick me up, Mr. Mims found me and said, "I just wanted to thank you're a breath of fresh air around here." I said, "No problem Mr. Mims." He then pulled out a wad of cash and slid 60.00 into my hand! WOW!! I thought. "THANK YOU MR. MIMS!"

This is what I said. He told me not to say anything to the others. Of coarse I went right ahead and told Quantel that following Monday at school. At His surprise He said these words, "WE'RE THE ONES BACK AND FORTH OUT IN THE HOT ALL AFTERNOON_WHERE IS OURS!!!" He agreed to stay silent but told me something important_ He says "Melanie, if he keeps doing that that means that man want something."

Sure enough as the weeks passed every Friday he would find me by myself and pull out his stash and the amount kept increasing. I begin to feel bad about it. If it was something nice being done then why did it feel so dirty and dark? I was able to get more things I wanted and that was great but my insides were wrestling to come to a conclusion about was this innocent or not. I began to pray to the Lord and ask Him to end it. The more he gave me the cash the closer he would get. Here I was on my first job that I had grown to love and how did it turn so sour? Just like the produce he had taught me about: "If you find one that is rotten, get rid of it or it will spoil those around it" He was that rotten tomato. Not to mention it was a family owned business and Mrs. Mims could smell his favor towards me a mile away! They were both in their late 50's early 60's. The talk was that Mr. Mims favored black women and had a few girlfriends that Mrs. Mims knew about. I begin to ask the Lord to end this_ please! I did not know how to walk away. My family had begin to love the trinkets I was getting for half off, I mean the things were nice! Antique lamps and bottom of the bed long footstools with carvings of wonder, cherry wood! The following week one of the boys walked through and wanted me to charge off a soda that he wanted. The Mims had just told us "no more free stuff" in an employee meeting we had. I said no. The young man says "come on Melanie, it's hot out." "Sorry, I can't do it," is what I said. "Fine then Nigger," is what he said and he walked off just as red and mad as he could be! I let that simmer before speaking to anyone about it. I mean it's just Troy with his spoiled country talking self, but still I was going to let it be known the foul language of prejudice he used towards me. At the end of the day I saw Mr. Mims and I told him what was said to me. He then took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes followed by putting them back on and said these words... "You are aint ya?" I did not respond with an answer and that was my last time walking into MIMS MART! I think I was more shocked than hurt, but I began to thank the Lord because I'm sure He saved me from something that could have transpired into something much worse! While he was the big name in town and everyone went to his family business for fresh goods about five years later I head he had gotten busted for crack, divorced, his family wanted nothing to do with him and his family business went down the drain and was sold to someone else. I don't glory in this, but it taught me that you should treat everyone like you want to be treated. God don't play! It was many more in the city with the testimony that he had treated them wrong in some way! Why did I share this testimony? Because looking back I realize I was not big enough to make the decision for myself! It felt wrong. Why could his wife not give me the tip? Why him in secret? I could tell the family had many secrets that they just worked and made money over. Still I needed the Lord to intervene because I didn't have the courage to tell anyone that could have made a sound decision for me.

I began to grow confidence in God as my Father. It is He who would make decisions for me when I was not strong enough. I believe the Lord had me to share this because He knows that many of His people are going though something similar. Some of us are just teens in the spirit realm and we need someone else to make decisions for us. All we know is that we love and when we love_ we love HARD. In loving hard we can also be easily fooled by the enemy in whomever he chooses to use that is open to him. In one instance Jesus was praising Peter and in the next He was saying to this same Peter, "GET THE BEHIND ME SATAN!" Are we sharp enough to know when the enemy is speaking out of someone with a familiar face? It does not mean they are bad people but it means they have doors open that allows that realm to come in. Can you discern when the enemy is trying to speak through you or your children? Like I took it to the Lord years ago I make this my practice no matter what! We have people that we love, leaders that we love, Mentors that we love but do we love Jesus more? Restore your relationship with Jesus today if needed!! He will put you in a safe place! The place of "trust." Sleeping inside the scriptures lay the words that determines life or death for us! These words...

{John 10 4,5}

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

Just like I was in a fog about what to do, the Lord opened the door for me to exit. I had grown to like the people and the customers very much. I loved working with peers and the things Mims Mart had to offer yet still something was off that could have led me down a very dark road. This is the hour to be very very careful about what we hear and what we choose to believe! If something sounds strange or foreign to you, then consult God about it! Everything is not His voice! Don't allow love to be used against you because it is our greatest weapon! This saying will help us along our journey to Kingdom_ "Never love pass the truth." If we are ones that choose to love pass the truth then we might as well love satan! They are continuing in slick ways to blurry the lines of the gospel of Jesus Christ! I have personally asked the Lord that when giving me revelation to make it as plain to me as possible so that I can make it plain for someone else. I never ever want to be found belittling the ones who really take their walk with the Lord seriously and making them feel as their living is in vein! Father is bringing many off of the streets and He will entrust them to those of us who have His heart, and those who He trusts can rear them up the correct way! Their are a lot of people going the way of Kanye West! Anything goes_ all in the name of Jesus! Saints, our bible say the way is narrow and strait.

{Matthew 7 13,14}

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

They have made it wide and free. Still my sheep know my voice and they trust me with their every decision. While the masses go their way, and cause conflict inside of the true believers that we will be replaced by the rambunctious, God sits high and looks low while shaking His head! No, I will trust those coming in with these that have shown me loyalty. Their spirit is not open to everything and everybody.

{Proverbs 4:23}

"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."

People are doing everything you can think of to "preserve life!" We must be just that serious about the life that flows out of the heart! Take notice of the "fiery serpents" that try to rise up and bite you just when they think you are close enough! These have an expire date! God is raising up ones who know that the way is strait and the path is narrow. We know that {Romans 8:1}

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

This scripture specifies who are the ones with "no condemnation." It is the ones _"who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit." Do you know His voice?

If we are walking after the Spirit and led into the wilderness to be tempted why should we feel condemned? We are concentrating on how to pass the coarse!

condemnation - The expression on very strong disapproval. (why should the strait walkers feel this when all things work together for the good of those in Christ Jesus?)

conviction_ a firmly held belief or opinion. (who am I to make someone feel bad about a conviction they have? If it is not sending them to the lake of fire then why should it be my concern?)

But the wide way will have you feeling like your personal convictions are wrong. Maybe they feel bad because they don't have any convictions, crying Lord Lord did we not prophecy in your name and cast out devils. They judge you and make you feel stupid because you have convictions about things. So the question we are asking on the strait walk is... "Is it okay to have convictions?"

The answer is this, {Matthew 7:22,23}

"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

These are they that take advantage of the gift of God being given without repentance and then teach men to do so! This is why they try to make you feel like some lollipop will run in and take your place. Not so! Jesus called us the salt of the earth for a reason. We are His seasoned! Winter, Fall, Summer, and Spring He will go to the seasoned to help those who He plans on allowing to enter in at the strait gate. Be encouraged fellow brothers, sisters, and leaders alike who are teaching the way of the strait! They would love to declare that we have no wisdom in winning souls but I beg to differ! The way of the wide is just more popular! LET GOD ARISE!! Be careful as we are in the last hour!

I began to wake up and found that my eyes were acting a bit different. I felt like something was in them that was foreign yet when I looked I saw nothing. This happened for several days and I could not figure out what it was. It felt almost like a film of something was wanting to cover my eyes! I began to pay close attention and observe my surroundings and that's when the Lord allowed me to spot the problem! Their was a diffuser that I had going in the room where I sleep. I had it going day and night and yes it is pretty and was giving off a nice fragrance yet the smoke coming from it had begin to aggravate my eyes over time causing irritation. If we are not careful _many doctrines abroad will cause blindness with us not knowing which way Father went and why. Do you really trust the Lord? If so then allow the precision cuts He wants to make! It is to your advantage for Him to make the cuts now!!!

When I look at Ruth, the kinsman thought it to be to expensive to receive the blessing! It was Boaz, the man of wisdom and valor who saw beyond what was. The way of the wide find it to expensive to travel the way of the strait gate. Having convictions and a guarded heart is to much. The Lord put many of us here to show the young in spirit "how to walk." The wide say "let God teach them how to walk." God says "I raised my seasoned up to teach them how to walk." The wide way says "People will come in off the street and teach people how to walk." God says, " This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."

{Matthew 15 8,9}

This is why they want you to feel like the sacrifices you do make for the kingdom of the strait is in vein, because they have walked another way. Stay the course my brothers and sisters! The time is vastly approaching! The way of the strait will pay off! "Well done thy good and fateful servant!" Yes we love them, but not enough to follow them the wrong way. That is where any sound mind would draw the line.

{Matthew 7:13}

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

How do you see it?
