Have you ever been in a place in your life where this question came to hunt you? The key word being “hunt”! Or has this scripture ever hunted you- “my God shall supply all my need accord to His riches in glory”? Has this one ever had you second guessing? “Never have I seen the righteous forsaken or His seed begging bread”?
Yes yes yes!!! It seems as if we all at some point have prayed this prayer while in need. Yet still I love the Lord so much and His matchless love is grand!! All of these have come to my mind over the coarse of me receiving salvation into my life by Jesus Christ! I look at the children of Israel often times and wonder, am I better than they were? The answer is that Father desires for us to know and gain a steady growing relationship with Him! We MUST come to these points in the road for Him to show us that He can do anything but fail! What does the word ”furnish“ mean?
*We mostly picture our wilderness season to be when we lack substance that we can see. We think it means that others have and we do not. That is one level of the wilderness!
*A true wilderness season is when you are lead alone on a journey for a time!
The Bible says that
*Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
The Bible says Moses then cried unto the Lord! Notice that the wilderness they went into was called “Shur.” In our time we would call it “Sure!”
This is the place where the Lord would make them SURE that He can supply their every need.
*Jesus was lead to the wilderness to be tempted! He was fasting and the enemy tried to tempt him to make stones Bread. He also wanted Him to receive the things of his kingdom and forsake those of God’s kingdom. We are to never ever fall down and worship another no matter what they may offer you! Never ever see it their way! It’s only one way and that is Jesus: The way, the truth, the life!
Still there was another who occupied the wilderness called John The Baptist!
John was on an assignment appointed by God
“ The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.“
You see, either wilderness they entered they each had a cry in their Spirit man! The leaders felt the burden of the Lord! I know that I always come back to this scripture and it is because I have fallen head first in love with it.
{Matthew 6:33}
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
No matter which wilderness season you are in, just know that the Lord wants a certain thing from you! He wants you to become SURE of who He is and what He can do!
Has your Parents or grandparents ever told you that you cannot have anything else or anything sweet until you eat your veggies first? I believe we have all heard this before! Well Father says we can’t have anything else until we eat this first…
{Matthew 6:33}
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
What is the first table that He has presented to us?
{Exodus 34:1}
And the Lord said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.”
Also
{proverbs 7 2&3}
“Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. “Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.”
The Lord says Eat this first!!
After we take of His righteousness all the other things shall be added!
The Key is to know which wilderness season you might be in!
One level believes God for food and water
Another level believes God to keep them from world temptation, and another is on assignment for the Kingdom! Whether we believe it or not this world is the wilderness area and we are always going to be in one of these three, or two of three, or three of three!! What we do in our wilderness season determines the elevation we receive.
Have you ever thought of yourself being His seed but yet you are begging for bread? You’re not begging for bread! It comes liberally! The word of God is our daily bread and we have never gone lacking of it! To need these things of necessity naturally it may mean we’re in the wilderness of Sure and God is trying to establish that relationship with you that He shall supply all your need! Do we trust Him to provide a table in the wilderness? It starts with totally trusting in His word and then other things are manifested!
In the wilderness we must always remember to remain thankful! This is the Will of God concerning us! It’s never good to get mad because you may feel someone can help you but they don’t. The wilderness is not about them, but about you becoming SURE of who God is in your life!
